Projects

The Appleton Charitable Foundation engages directly in charitable activities as well as funding other registered charities to promote philanthropic aims.

The Appleton Foundation is dedicated to projects that support community awareness in the arts, humanities and public health. The Foundation is committed to enhancing public health through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Initiatives such as the GreenApple Report create awareness for policy makers and educate the public on how greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced.

Arts Education and Outreach

The Appleton Foundation has committed resources towards the support and educational outreach activities connected to the generation of broader international knowledge and understanding of artistic works and disciplines undertaken by Canadian-based artists. The Appleton Foundation has been providing specific administrative and financial support to charitable activities undertaken by Canadian artists who have been selected to participate in international exhibitions of contemporary art, most especially the 18th Biennale of Sydney which will be held from June 27 to September 28, 2012.

Arctic Initiatives

The Appleton Charitable Foundation has been an active supporter of initiatives with respect to global climate change and its impact on the inhabitants in polar regions of Canada. These activities have built upon the Foundation’s experience in support of smart transportation and upon arts outreach and education.

The Appleton Foundation has supported projects in dealing with the West Baffin Eskimo co-op and provided funding for a symposium held at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2011 entitled Arctic Visions: The 50th Anniversary of the Kinngait Studio, Cape Dorset.
